  • Ridhi, How Do I Look After My Art?

The moisture in the air got me thinking about my art! So I headed to one of the best art galleries in India called @naturemorte_delhi and they helped me understand how to look after art.

    1. Stick silica gels behind the art. These can easily be found on Amazon. Pro tip: using masking tape to stick the sachets and not scotch tape to avoid damage to the wooden backing.
    2. Hang your art on 2 nails. I’m that annoying guest who will come to your house and straighten your art if I see it is crooked 😅 2 nails/ screws/ pegs will avoid that.
    3. ONLY paper art should be enclosed in a glass frame. Other types of art like oil paintings need to breathe as sometimes oil takes years to dry.
    4. Dust your art with a soft wide brush once a week to once a month depending on how dusty your environment is.

A GREAT website you can refer to for more information is https://www.terrain.art/artwork-care This website will even explain the difference between types of artwork. I’ll put this website in my highlights in the “resource” folder for future reference too.

Please go look at your art today and see if it needs help 😝
