Design Lessons From Sadguru
Meeting Sadhguru was a blessing. I haven’t been an ardent follower and was happy to be invited to spend time with him. But, once our 3 hour session was done, I felt grateful to know I have walked the same earth as him. I have a deep belief that the world works on the movement of energy. During our session, I felt a different type of energy that left me buzzing for hours. In fact, I needed a cold dip in the chandrakund to just calm everything down.
My Experience 👇
I had to opportunity to discuss design with Swami Subana. He has helped execute all of Sadhguru’s designs for more than 20 years and knows every story about every brick.
– The emphasis on natural paint is very high. They mixed pigments from red soil and additives to achieve the reddish rustic look used all over. They mostly use natural dyes.
– They use earthy tones because those colours help calm you, make you feel grounded and focused.
– They are very open to experimentation and everything is done by volunteers.
About Isha Foundation’s Architecture 👇
Sadhuguru said – Architecture is just a play of geometry. If you look at all the buildings at the Isha Yoga Center right now, they do not stand because of the strength of the material. They stand only because of perfectness of the geometry. That is the beauty of what we are doing here. If you use concrete, cement or steel, generally you can make the building any way you want because it’s the material that holds it together, not the geometry.
Thank you @isha.foundation for having me 🙏
