  • Celebrating Indian Craft

Harshita is the artist behind this stunning belt — and trust me, I’ve already lost count of how many people have asked for her number! 🤩
(Sharing it below because good craft deserves to be found.)

Celebrating Indian craft has become such a big part of my work. Out of nearly 3,000 documented crafts in India, only about 150–200 that relate to interiors are still being actively preserved today… and we need to champion the hands that keep them alive.

@artsoul_studio emailed me out of the blue, and one look at her work and I was obsessed. After a bunch of Zoom calls and back-and-forths, the belt, earrings and hand accessory finally arrived — and I swear, her detailing is even more beautiful in person.
The cast brass belt ties at the back, so it’s surprisingly easy to wear, and the Pichwai-style painting is chef’s kiss.

Fun fact: The moon in a Pichwai is always full 🌕
The Nathdwara school is over 350 years old, and some families have been painting Pichwais for 15 generations.

Handmade. Rooted. Magical. Exactly the kind of Indian craft I love sharing with all of you.♥️
