  • Interiors Of Araku Restaurant

Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of having a fireside chat with @manoj_naandi, the co-founder of @arakucoffeein. While chatting, I decided that the restaurant’s interiors should be showcased because so much thought has gone into designing every corner. Of course, it’s hard to capture everything in a short reel but think of this as a teaser and once you visit the restaurant, you can watch the whole movie 🙂

The restaurant is managed by my dear friend @aditidugar and chef @jedicooks who is an absolute sweetheart!

    Architect: @jorgeazapata

    Bamboo lights from: @sangaru.design
He focuses on preserving bamboo forests in India and the lights are made by artisans in Northeast India.

Some of the artwork is by: @richardpike
He depicts local villagers from all around the world in his artwork. While walking up the stairs, you’ll see an artwork about the dancing girl from the Harappan civilisation in a ‘tribal’ way.

    Other artwork is by: @chasmawalasaubiya
Her artwork showcases language as a culture, similar to how agriculture is also culture.

Artwork has been sourced from @tarqmumbai

    A little background:
Araku coffee comes from Araku Valley in Andra Pradhesh. @naandi_india taught the local farmers about regenerative farming which means life below the soil affects life above the soil. So they use a secret sauce of cow dung and other natural ingredients to maintain the quality of the soil to ensure world class coffee beans. This has been implemented for many other ingredients as well. @arakurestaurant ensures every ingredient is mindfully sourced and comes from a place of authentic organic farming.
